How do I put my Tidy Books bookcase together?
Full instructions and everything you need, apart from a screwdriver, is included in the box. We promise it's easy to do!
What materials is the bookcase made from?
Tidy Books bookcase is made from lime wood from sustainable sources and a clear or coloured lacquer finish. The letters are wooden, in shades of red, yellow, blue and green. Our products are handmade and hand finished with love! Therefore each one is original... We pride ourselves on making our products a joy to own and feel that originalities will not affect you or your children's enjoyment of our product for many years to come.
Environment:
Our products are made from wood from sustainable sources, and we are working on our production to improve our stand on the environment-watch this space! Our thinking is simple; we are not into throw away items. We'd like to think that everything you buy from us will be used for a very long time, once your child doesn't need the alphabet on the bookcase, turn the panels round (you might want to knock the alphabets off for more space) and you can continue using the bookcase-Take the clock off the Tidy Box etc... our products come flat pack using minimal packaging and transport space. Not just satisfied with required standards, we are always looking to improve our production, do our best and respect the people we work with.
At last! Water-based lacquer has arrived......
After trial and error, we are now incredibly proud to tell you that Tidy Books products are now finished in water lacquer, a safe and odour free paint, pushing Tidy Books well ahead of the accepted standards on safe paints and finishes.
The water lacquer creates a beautiful natural finish for the wooden bookcases, allowing the wood grain to be just visible, and is ideal for children and allergy sufferers. It took time to develop, but in the end it’s a natural choice for Tidy Books…
How many books does it hold?
Yes The Tidy Books Children’s Bookcase really does hold around 85 books - this is because the books are placed facing outward so you can fit a lot into quite a slim space!
Is it freestanding?
The bookcase is screwed at the top to the wall it rests against. It stands out from the wall about 5cm at the base of the unit, easily fitting around any size skirting board.
How big is the size of the box? Does it fit in a car?
The Tidy Books Children’s Bookcase box measures 78cm x 48cm x 8cm and weighs 8kg, so it can easily be transported.

The bookcases are unusual - are there any other companies producing them?
Tidy Books is the only bookshelf of its type available for the home market. We spent a long time developing the product and testing it with our friends and family. The design is copyrighted and trade mark registered.
What is the availability of the bookshelves?
Our bookshelves are normally available for immediate dispatch.
How quickly will I get my bookshelves?
The bookcases normally take 2 days to be delivered in the UK and6-10 days for the rest of the world, Monday to Friday inclusive.
How do you deliver the bookshelves?
We delivery direct to your door using City Link.
What if I have a problem? Call us! We will help and always do our best to make you happy!
Can I order more than one at a time?
Of course. For overseas orders please look at our online ordering page or contact us for a quote. Wholesale orders are also welcome. Please get in touch with us for further information.
Does someone have to be in to sign for the delivery?
Yes.
What if I miss the delivery?
City Link will leave a card, and they will also try to deliver the next day.
